Body mounting or clipping a Sennheiser MKE 2 lavalier microphone to clothing or costumes has just become much easier.
The Lav Concealer for the Sennheiser MKE 2 is a soft, pliable mount that covers many different mounting options, moulding itself to any surface it is attached to. Because of its soft rubber material, it also acts as a shock mount, protecting the mic capsule from vibration and absorbing friction noise to give you clearer sound recordings.

This innovative Sennheiser MKE2 lav mount fits the capsule perfectly and, along with making hiding the mic easier, protects it from a build up of glue which can result from repeatedly attaching tape directly to the mic. The Lav Concealer for Sennheiser MKE2 can be attached directly to skin or clothing using our Lav Concealer Tape. The tape is very strong, hypoallergenic and easy to apply, for mounting on fabric or skin without worry. It also includes a metal clothing clip and a fabric guard, which can be applied in any configuration you like, depending on the mounting style.
It can also be sewed into costumes by the costume department for daily repeated use.

ENVIRONMENTALLY SOUND:
The Lav Concealer is made from 100% natural rubber which is biodegradable and kind to the environment. The black and white versions don't make use of harmful chemical compounds to achieve the colouring.
The natural rubber used in manufacturing The Lav Concealer is biodegradable, which the environment will thank you for. In terms of clarity, using a soft, pliable rubber means it absorbs more vibrations than harder materials (eg. plastic), preventing unnecessary noise from ever reaching the capsule. The Lav Concealer for Sennheiser MKE2 Lav includes a fabric guard and a clothing clip, made of sprung metal. These attach to the concealer in tiny holes on the front and back. Having two different materials operating in unison helps prevent friction or vibrations from being transferred from one to the other, and eventually to the capsule.

MOUNTING SUGGESTIONS
With clothing clip:
- On the inside button seam of a shirt, above the button
- On a bra with clothing clip reversed in front end of the concealer
- On a Poloshirt on the inside button seam
With The LAV Concealer Tape:
- Underneath a jacket, coat or blazer breast panel, fixed to the jacket
- Directly to the skin on the chest underneath a t-shirt or shirt
- In a tie knot, with or without the tape (option to cut off the concealer wings for a smaller package

Application
Loading your mic in The Lav Concealer
- Start with all clips removed and wipe both the microphone and the Lav Concealer clean from any oily residue or buildup of dirt.
- Bend The Lav Concealer backwards in the middle to expose the entry hole into which you will insert the microphone capsule.
- Holding the microphone capsule at the base, insert it into The Lav Concealer and push it up so that it is flush with the end of the Concealer.
- Let The Lav Concealer go so that it snaps back into shape around the mic capsule. The finished product should look like this.
Adding the Fabric Guard and Clothing Clip
- Once the mic is loaded, line up the wire Fabric Guard with the two holes on the front of The Lav Concealer, wire loop facing the top, and insert the ends into the holes.
- Press and wriggle the Fabric Guard a bit to work it all the way in so that it is almost flush with the front side. When fitted, it also helps The Lav Concealer to hold the capsule more firmly.
- The Clothing Clip can then be added into the holes at the back of The Lav Concealer, facing the bottom side. Gently work the wire clip in to the holes, being careful not to place too much strain on the mic cable.
- Once flush, it should look like this. NB: This can also be switched around to the front instead of the Fabric Guard, for example, to clip it vertically to a bra, or as required.
Using The Lav Concealer Tape
- The Lav Concealer Tape is designed to fit The Lav Concealer perfectly, keeping any glue off the capsule and creating a strong hypoallergenic bond to any surface or fabric. Taks a piece of tape and line it up as shown in picture 1.
- Press the tape firmly onto the Lav Concealer, rubbing it firmly applying a decent amount of pressure. A few seconds of this will create a very strong bond.
- Peel off the backing paper using the handy thumb-tab and affix The Lav Concealer firmly - this can be directly to skin or to fabric, depending on what hides the package better. Make sure that the surface is dry when you do so and apply pressure for a few seconds to seal the bond.
- The Lav Concealer is hidden out of site, with the capsule protected from friction and the fabric guard maintaining clear air around it for the best possible sound.
